Events and appeals (April 2012)

We had a very successful Daffodil Day on Easter Sunday despite the chilly weather, our thanks again to Mr and Mrs Witherby for kindly hosting the event at their beautiful home in Wissett. We raised over £500 – we will confirm the exact amount soon and post some pictures on the website too.

Plans are well underway for our Summer Fete, which this year will be held on Saturday 26th May 2012 from 1.00pm – 4.30pm in the hospital grounds.  Halesworth Middle School has kindly agreed to us using their car park for the afternoon, and we have arranged for the Halesworth Hoppa to pick up in Halesworth and Holton.  There will be the usual favourites and many new attractions.  We will provide you with more details next month.

The League of Friends is looking for volunteers to assist with running the popular trolley shop.  The trolley shop runs twice a week, for patients at Patrick Stead Hospital and users at the Rayner Green Resource Centre, providing the opportunity to purchase welcomed extras.  If you have a little spare time and think you could help, we would love to hear from you.  Please contact Jackie Richardson on (01986) 874608.

We have another request for more volunteers.  Suffolk Hearing Support Services are currently looking for volunteers to assist at the Hearing Aid Clinic at the Patrick Stead Hospital on the 4th Friday of each month, from 10.00am – 12.00pm.  Volunteers would be required to maintain hearing aids; duties would include cleaning, re-tubing and issuing batteries.  Full training will be given.  For further details please contact Ellen Kay direct on  (01473) 467785.

Donations have been received this month in memory of Mr J A Benns, Mrs J Farmer and    Mr J R B Williams.  We have received an anonymous donation of £40, and a donation from   F P J Bellinger.  Dees Den have kindly made a donation to Rayner Green Resource Centre and the League of Friends have received royalties from G P Grieve deceased.  Our grateful thanks for all of the above donations.
