Why Halesworth Health?

Quality and Choice

Do you live in or around Halesworth?

Then you will know that from Laxfield to Walberswick, from Peasenhall to Ilketshall St Andrew, people actively support our health and care services.

There is high quality care at and close to home and choice, too, particularly for elderly people.

It is a remarkable example of how co-operation improves peoples lives.

You’ll find all the background information on other pages of Halesworth Health.

Safeguarding our care

Safeguarding and developing our health and care services is everyone’s concern.

  • High quality health care in Halesworth depends on keeping the network of services on one site
  • The community hospital’s inpatient services have been at risk in recent years
  • Rural isolation and the needs of an increasingly elderly population will be a continuing challenge
  • After years of discussion the NHS did not include Halesworth in development plans.

A ‘Now or Never Opportunity’

There is a ‘now or never’ opportunity to develop the ‘Halesworth Health Village’ on the Cutlers Hill/Patrick Stead site by working with the Campus Project group to achieve integrated sport, education, social and health facilities on adjacent sites.

Cutlers Hill Surgery, Patrick Stead Hospital League of Friends, Halesworth Community Nursing Care Fund and the Community First Responders decided in 2011 that the time had come to set up Halesworth Health to develop ideas to protect and sustain our local healthcare. Halesworth Health held its first meeting in February 2011.
